By John Ubaldi, “Ubaldi Reports”

Since the horrific death of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer, riots/protests followed, but what also came a surge of crime in many major American metropolitan cities.  Was this the result of the Floyd killing or was this something entirely different?

Almost all of the major metropolitan cities in America have been primarily controlled by Democrats for decades, and some of these cities have not seen a Republican mayor in over a century as is the case with Atlanta, and Milwaukee. The last Republican mayor in both of these cities was in 1879 for Atlanta, and 1906 for Milwaukee.

All through the summer Democrats and their nominee for president, former Vice President Joe Biden, who served under President Barack Obama, have said not one word about the carnage happening in American cities?

Even at the Democratic Party’s presidential convention, not one word was uttered about rioting and the surge in crime in American cities. Consistently the message has been this is all President Trump’s fault.

The media seems to be following the talking points of the Democratic Party by blaming Trump, but they never ask or report on how Democratic policies have led to an increase in crime in U.S. cities?

For too often Americans watch every night the common practice for protesters, men and women, is to be inches from the face of law enforcement personnel, hurl obscenities of such vial nature without any repercussions for their behavior.

Throughout the summer we have seen protestors/rioters commit wanton acts of violence and destruction costing upward over $1 billion, but then when the agitators are arrested the prosecutors in these various cities refuse to press charges. Instead these same prosecutors are willing to find any reason to cite and blame the police for the violence erupting in their cities.

The situation U.S. cities is decades in the making, with Democratic political governance shapes to redefine the definition of law and order. Far too often Democratic politicians have been disillusioned by the crime and incarceration found in inner city neighborhoods.

To counter act this phenomenon, progressive Democratic politicians have proposed a “decriminalization” as an alternative. Progressive Democratic politicians view crime more as a behavioral problem and blame the police for the increase in incarceration rates.

The unfortunate part of this, progressive Democrats push for decriminalization polices, but they live in low crime areas, and are not subjected to the ramifications of their own policies.

With the backing of billionaire investor and philanthropist George Soros and other progressive groups have circumvented the legislative process. Soros, through the Justice & Public Safety PAC and other groups, have been spending millions of dollars on prosecutorial races in recent years, with a number of beneficiaries making headlines since their elections.

What Soros and his progressive allies couldn’t achieve at the legislative level they have focused at the local level, they have succeeded by electing progressive prosecutors in Philadelphia, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Dallas, San Antonio, Seattle, Orlando, Fla., St. Louis, the New York City borough of Queens and elsewhere.

These progressive prosecutors we have witnessed through the summer have decided not to prosecute or charge any of the rioters no matter what they have been arrested for.

One of these progressive prosecutors, California’s Contra Costa County District Attorney Diane Becton made it tougher to prosecute looters; her directive is that investigators must now consider, “was this theft offense substantially motivated by the state of emergency, or simply a theft offense which occurred contemporaneously to the declared state of emergency?”

Law enforcement is being directed to ask looters “was the theft committed for financial gain or personal need?” If they say it’s for personal need, they can’t be charged.

You even have prominent Democrats such as former Vice President and current Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden’s members of his staff have been donating to the Minnesota Freedom Fund (MFF).  This fund helps provide bail money to individuals arrested in the recent rioting.

Even Biden’s vice-presidential nominee, Kamala Harris, encouraging individuals to donate to this fund, with Harris tweeting on June 1st, “If you’re able to, chip in now to the @MNFreedomFund to help post bail for those protesting on the ground in Minnesota.”

This fund was responsible for releasing Timothy Wayne Columbus, a 36-year-old-man, is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly penetrating a girl in 2015 when she was about 8 years old. A warrant was issued for his arrest on June 25. But he was later bailed out of jail and according to a court document, filed to have his bail money returned to Minnesota Freedom Fund (MFF), the organization Harris and many Biden staffers asked their followers to donate to during the rioting in Minneapolis earlier this year.

The support by Harris and Biden’s staff to this fund has never made the news!  Unfortunately, for Democrats and a complicit media they never understand without safe neighborhoods you will never have economic development, but Democratic socialistic polices over the years have made the lives of black and Hispanic families worse not better.

Progressive Democratic policies have centered on bail reform, but this has had the opposite effect by making the crime rate skyrocket with the release of criminals back onto the street and the simultaneous impact of defanging the police. Instead of safer neighborhoods you make them less safe.

Progressive policies which were enacted in New York State by overhauling its bail law which passed in April 2019, in which it reduced the number of crime’s judges, can set bail for. Here is a full listing of all the crimes which fall under the bail reform law recently passed in New York State.

WCBS-TV (CBS 2) Urban Affairs Expert Mark Peters regarding bail reform, “They eliminated bail but they never put in the safeguard we need of allowing a judge to assess dangerousness and the result is we’ve got some glaring loopholes that will go into effect,”

Peters continued, “So someone can walk up to someone on the street punch them in the face and if they haven’t done lasting physical injury there’s no bail available… they’ll be let out that day they can go punch someone the next day.”

We are now witnessing the progressive Democratic policy of defunding the police with cities across the country sharply reducing the budgets of the police.  Minneapolis, the epicenter of this defund the police movement in July reduced the city’s police budget by $1.1 million.

This month citizens of the city viciously complained to the Minneapolis city council about they don’t feel safe and wonder where are the police? The council wanted answers from the police chief regarding this. What do you expect was going to happen when you reduce funding and demonize law enforcement?  Well over 100 officers have left the city’s police force.

U.S. Attorney General William Barr delivered remarks during the announcement of Operation Legend which stated, “On one recent weekend in Chicago, more than 60 people were shot – 14 of them fatally.  The murder rate in Chicago is up 48 percent over last year.  In New York City, where the mayor has agreed to strip $1 billion from the police department, the murder rate is up 25 percent.  Murder is up 42 percent in New Orleans. Albuquerque, New Mexico, had a record 82 homicides last year and is on pace to exceed that record this year.  In Kansas City, there have already been 100 homicides this year, a 40 percent increase from the same time last year.”

At his contentious House Judiciary Committee hearing in July Barr stated, “At the same time, I think it would be an oversimplification to treat the problem as rooted in some deep-seated racism generally infecting our police departments. It seems far more likely that the problem stems from a complex mix of factors, which can be addressed with focused attention over time.”

Barr continued to comment, “When a community turns on and pillories its own police, officers naturally become more risk averse and crime rates soar. Unfortunately, we are seeing that now in many of our major cities. This is a critical problem that exists apart from disagreements on other issues. The threat to black lives posed by crime on the streets is massively greater than any threat posed by police misconduct. The leading cause of death for young black males is homicide. Every year approximately 7,500 black Americans are victims of homicide, and the vast majority of them – around 90 percent – are killed by other blacks, mainly by gunfire. Each of those lives matter.”

If this trend by progressive Democratic polices continue you will see crime surge to astronomical levels.

One only has to view how the Democrat presidential candidate would handle crime in urban American cities. First, Biden has said nothing for months and only spoke up when polls and focus groups begun to show people were concerned about rising crime.

In the Biden-Sanders Unity Task Force under the heading of “Protecting Communities by Reforming Our Criminal Justice System,” Daniel Henninger of the Wall Street Journal writes that the words “felony,” “homicides” or “gangs” appear nowhere. It’s almost entirely about one thing—the police and reducing their role. “Shootings” appears once—in regard to “police shootings.”

Henninger continues, subsequent proposals on the official Biden campaign website overwhelmingly reflect these policies. The Democrats’ failure at their convention to mention the violence wasn’t just avoidance of an inconvenient reality. It was a conscious ideological choice. To restate a point made previously in this space: There will be no return to normal if Harris-Biden wins.

The sad part progressive Democratic policies are transforming the neighborhoods of the black and Hispanic communities making them less safe and more dangerous.  Unfortunately, they live in safe communities with law enforcement and low crime, they are just never subjected to the ramifications of their own polices.

The sad part is the peasants are!
