Every institution in America is now or currently under attack by those who champion the moniker of preserving our Democracy, but in their zealous pursuit of their agenda for America they pursue a strategy that the ends justifying the means, and now they have attacked the last U.S. institution the U.S. Supreme Court.

The U.S. Supreme Court throughout its history was supposed to be a political, but the recent leak of Justice Samuel Alito’s draft opinion on abortion, activists and supporters of Roe vs Wade the landmark court ruling which legalized abortion over fifty years ago went into frenzy by threatened the very legitimacy of the court.

The threat to the court didn’t just start with the leak of this draft ruling, but political leaders who supposedly take an oath to uphold the very foundations of the constitution itself have openly attacked the legitimacy of the court by threatening various justices if they rule a particular way.

Just examine the threatening statement made by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, when he stood definitely before the steps of the Supreme Court in March 2020, as the justices considered were arguing an abortion case.

“I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions,” he passionately screamed in front of rabid pro-choice abortion supporters.

Schumer was passionately referring to Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, but what did he mean by “the whirlwind”? At the time no Democrat running for president in 2020 condemned his outburst directed at intimidating the court if they didn’t rule his way.

For years Democrats have openly pledge to achieve their stated political goals, “by any means necessary,” this includes packing or gutting the court, as they openly campaigned on in 2020. Once they gained controlled of the Senate and with a slim Democratic majority in the House, they wanted to end the filibuster, and adamantly wanted to pack the Supreme Court which would enable Democrats to achieve their aims what they couldn’t do through legislation.

George Washington University Constitutional Law Professor Jonathan Turley stated that, “Democratic leaders have hammered away at the court and its members, demanding that the court adhere to political demands or face institutional disaster. The threats have grown increasingly raw and reckless as politicians sought to outdo each other in their attacks. In the age of rage, restraint is a lethal liability.”

With the release of the draft opinion by Alito, a progressive group named “Ruth Sent Us” has openly invited people to harass who they claim are six “extremist justices.” This group was named after the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, days after the draft ruling was leaked they published the locations of the homes of the justices via a map on its website, and then it mysteriously vanished without any explanation.

This same group has openly called for protests not only at the justice’s home, but at Catholic churches, as a sign of defiant protest as many of justices are practicing Catholics.

Even President Biden, who is always quick to condemn groups and Republicans for extremist actions, and rhetoric, so far has remained mum on the subject.

Even outgoing White House press secretary Jen Psaki was pressed on Biden’s thoughts on those advocating protests at the justice’s homes and churches on the leaked ruling which could potentially overturn the federal legalization of abortion, by returning it back to the states for voters to decide.

As anticipated a reporter wanted Biden’s view, and what were his comments on how law enforcement should respond to these protests.

Psaki made sure that everyone knew that Biden understands and shares the anger that pro-abortion are feeling after the court draft was released. “For all those women, men, others who feel outraged, who feel scared, who feel concerned, he hears them, he shares that concern and that horror of what he saw in that draft opinion,” she stated.

The only comments Psaki called for was that the protests to remain peaceful. “We should not be resorting to violence in any way, shape or form,” she said.

Biden was quick to callout Trump supporters as the “most extreme political organization that’s existed” in recent U.S. history. At the press conference, Fox News’ Peter Doocy pressed Psaki on what the president thought of one liberal activist group releasing a map of the homes of Supreme Court justices for a “walk-by Wednesday” demonstration.

Are those progressive activists “extreme?” Doocy asked.

“Peaceful protest? No. Peaceful protests are not extreme,” Psaki said flatly.

“I think the president’s view is there’s a lot of passion, a lot of fear, a lot of sadness from many, many people across the country about what they saw in that document,” she said.

Psaki, nor President Biden could condemn the protestors!

Many have lionized the leaker as hero or heroine, with the media and political figures further inflaming the rhetoric to “burn down the Court” or to pack it with reliable liberal judges who will issue rulings that align with Democrats political views.  Democrats who disagree with the constitutional interpretation, now openly advocate that the entire institution is illegitimate.

Turley wrote that Slate’s Dahlia Lithwick wrote “we need to be focusing on the legitimacy of the court itself” while CNN’s chief political analyst Gloria Borger suggested that the Supreme Court Justices were “just a bunch of politicians in robes.” Historian Jon Meacham declared “If you had any reservations about the system’s capacity to deliver justice, they have just been affirmed.” Because the Court has adopted an opposing constitutional interpretation, we are once again deluged from calls ranging from packing the Court to burning it down. In this environment, the White House could not even muster enough courage to denounce protesters descending on the homes of justices to harass them. While the legitimacy of the Court is questioned, the targeting of justices and their families is not.

Alexander Hamilton writing in Federalist #78, “It equally proves, that though individual oppression may now and then proceed from the courts of justice, the general liberty of the people can never be endangered from that quarter; I mean so long as the judiciary remains truly distinct from both the legislature and the Executive. For I agree, that “there is no liberty if the power of judging is not separated from the legislative and executive powers.”

The founders wanted the court to be independent of those who make the legislation and enforce the rules as is the case with the executive branch.

The question which should be asked, has anyone read the draft ruling by Alito? All it did was returning the question of abortion for each voter in each state to make the decision on abortion for themselves, isn’t that what Democracy or our Constitutional Republic is all about?

The real threat to our Constitutional Republic is those who want to tear down the Supreme Court and those who fail to condemn those who do!
