The mid-term election is now here, Democrats and Republicans are making their final pitch to voters as to why they should handle the levers of power in Washington, with one party signaling this is all about Democracy the other party focuses on issues Americans are facing in their daily lives; the question who will prevail?

Midterm elections are usually a referendum on the party that controls the White House, and in every election that means loss of seats in the Congress. Just on historical trends and with only a few seat majority the Democrats will lose control and hand the House of Representatives to the Republicans.

If you base it on reapportionment alone the Republicans gain control of the House, but with the mood of the country is such a sour state, many are looking at kitchen table issues instead of how they would traditionally vote. This means greater losses by Democrats and greater gains by Republicans which could flip the Senate come Tuesday.

It’s interesting that President Biden and Democrats are doubling down on this election as Democracy is in peril if Republicans gain control of both the House and the Senate, and any vote for the GOP will end this experiment of a republican form of governance which has been the hallmark for close to 250 years.

Even President Biden gave a nationally televised address but instead of addressing what most Americans are concerned about; inflation, the economy, crime and immigration Biden and Democrats have doubled down that this election is a direct threat to American Democracy.

Even Democratic Pollster Mark Penn and Douglas Schoen both worked for former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton have been perplexed that this is the direction Democrats have decided to end their closing arguments.

Even as Biden touts his administration economic success, the labor participation rate is at an all-time low, and still a full percentage and half below where the nation was pre-pandemic, this despite massive government stimulus money infused into the economy.

In the past few weeks Biden has stated nothing about the concerns of ordinary American’s, except how great the economy is doing, when citizens view firsthand the economy is not doing well, but the president still was telling everyone that gas prices were $5 a gallon when he took office, but everyone knows different.

Republicans have been campaigning on kitchen table issues and reminding voters on a phase used very effectively used by Ronald Reagan against then President Jimmy Carter in 1980, when he uttered, “Are you better off now then you were four years ago”?

Republicans have shortened the phrase to, “Are you better off now then you were two years ago”?

The biggest issue Americans are concerned about is inflation and the inflation rate when Biden assumed the presidency was around 1.7%, and now it hovers between 8-9%. The prices of ordinary items that Americans utilize are food; fuel, shelter, and energy are far higher than was the case two years ago.  In many case consumers are unable to get the basic items because of their unavailability, such as baby formula.

Months ago the Biden administration was dealing with a shortage of baby formula the result of an industry wide shutdown of one major company that supplies 45% of all infant formula. It was a major issue at the beginning of summer, but faded over time, but that doesn’t mean the issue has gone away for American families.

With the holidays a short few weeks away, the Biden administration still hasn’t addressed or come to grips with the supply-chain disruptions that continue to this day. Businesses, especially small business continue to complain about rising cost of basic commodities such as food, energy, and labor costs.

Even right now the American economy is facing headwinds with a looming rail strike with the cooling off period set to expire on the November 19th; this follows the Biden administration taking credit for a brokered agreement back in September. Two rail unions have rejected Biden’s brokered agreement.

With President Biden’s and the Democratic Party’s anti-energy policies, the U.S. is reportedly has around a 25-day supply of diesel fuel—this is the one source of energy that powers the economy of America.

The Democrats failed energy polices has placed America in a precarious situation and now with the Biden administration continually draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve of oil, all for political reasons, but at the same time demonizing the energy companies.

The problem for Democratic incumbents running in tight races against their Republican challengers is that they supported and helped Biden when he canceled key pipelines, reduced federal leasing to its lowest level since the Truman administration.

These same Democrats also supported every spending proposal beginning with the $2 trillion American Rescue Plan which even Democratic economists such as former Secretary of the Treasury in the Clinton administration Larry Summers and senior economic advisor to President Obama Steve Rattner both stated this spending has and will led to higher inflation. Both were ridiculed and now both were proven right!

It’s ironic, President Biden and Democrats have pursued an anti-fossil fuel agenda, and with the Democrats firmly in control of all levers of power in Washington they were free to enact their climate agenda. The problem it has had the opposite effect with raising the price of energy and what Americans pay at the pump. This short-sighted goal further impacted the entire U.S. economy further exacerbating inflation.

The other issue American’s are concerned with is the rising crime rate across the country especially in America’s urban core. Democrats for the past couple of years have been pushing and advocating “Defend the Police” movement.

This has been further exemplified by Democrat led state governments which have pushed and codified into law “no cash bail” which has led criminals to be released without being charged. Democratic led states have progressive orientated District Attorneys who refuse to charge those who commit crimes all in the name of racial equity.

This has led to an upsurge of violent crime, with criminals committing acts with little consequences for their actions. Many people are virtually scared to ride the subway in New York, walk at night or just be able to safely leave there homes.

Democrats such as New York State Governor Kathy Hocul who dismissed the rise of crime as manufactured by Republicans, even Hillary Clinton continued this reasoning by also blaming Republicans for stoking fear.

They are stuck in a bubble and insulting what American face every day!

Look at immigration, an issue Democrats and the President have virtually ignored, the lack of concern has led to over 4 million illegal crossing the U.S. southern border with impunity and with the deadly fentanyl drug that is responsible for the deaths of more Americans between the ages of 18-45 than any other thing else.

The president and any other Democrat refuse to visit the border to see firsthand; even the border czar Vice President Kamala Harris avoids the U.S. southern border at all costs.

Let’s examine Biden’s record on foreign policy, Democrats fail to mention, but Americans remember how they stated assisted by a complicit media that this was the most experienced foreign policy in decades, but instead America witnessed a humiliating withdrawal from Afghanistan, a military that is unprepared to face the nations foes, but well prepared in diversity, inclusion and equity training just not warfighting.

Instead of addressing what American’s face each and every day Democrats are doubling down on fear to drive turnout, we will see if this strategy will work or the Republicans focus on kitchen table issues. November 8th we will be the real test!
