By John Ubaldi, “Ubaldi Reports”

After four years, the political elite is still stymied by the fact that Donald Trump was elected president, stunned that he continually has support across America and that he is even close in the presidential race to Joe Biden mystifies them.

The political elite still don’t understand why American’s are so angry at the Washington establishment or by using the popular vernacular; the deep swamp. To answer this question, one only had to view the sanctimonious testimony of former FBI Director James Comey before the Senate Judiciary Committee. This was regarding Comey’s role in the Bureaus “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

This should be easy to answer, but something so simple can be difficult to comprehend when you are blinded by your own political and privilege ideology. Far too often, the left, the media, and the never Trump movement in the Republican Party believed he won because he preyed on the weak and ill-informed.

Maybe if these same individuals would have opened their eyes and see what ordinary citizen view, they would comprehend the anger. Instead the political elite look down from there high perch at ordinary American’s who have watched for decades as this elite class of politicians from both sides of the political spectrum told them they know what’s best for them. Whatever policy they forced on American people they were always exempt from their own polices. It was always one standard for me and a different one for the peasants.

Democrat and Republican politicians broke every promise to the American people, failed to solve the most pressing issues confronting America today, and then had the audacity to blame the system when they failed.

For decades the American people watched as the swamp of Democratic and Republican officials take over their government. Voter’s witnessed the IRA target political opponents, self-righteous government officials deciding to change rules and regulations stating they know what’s best for us, absent of any constitutional authority.

We witnessed as Obama administration officials at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives send weapons into Mexico then lied to federal judicial officials about its origins. Americans felt the impact of officials at the Environmental Protection Agency change environmental rules without authorization from Congress where the constitutional authority lies. Jobs and businesses were lost as businesses were ruined, but this meant nothing to the ruling political class. This wasn’t there business or their job!

At the same time, the American people watched with anger over the double standard.  Hillary Clinton with wanton abandon deleted thousands of emails, violated every federal security norm in the handling of classified material. The American people knew that if they were in a similar situation they would have been prosecuted, convicted and sentenced for doing far less.

Far too often Americans have witnessed as they struggle to provide for their families, members of the political elite and their families have profited from there government service while ordinary citizens struggle.

At the end of last month Americans witnessed with extreme anger with all that personifies what is wrong with America. Testifying before Senate Judiciary Committee former FBI Director James Comey in a sanctimonious manner appearing in a casual shirt in his home office his testimony reminded Americans what is wrong with this country.

Wall Street Journal Columnist Kimberly Strassel wrote that, Chairman Lindsey Graham hauled the former FBI director in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee ostensibly to answer for stunning new details in the bureau’s Trump-Russia probe. But the hearing more broadly resurrected the breathtaking arrogance of the swamp. This was the crew that in 2016—based on the thinnest of tips—launched a counterintelligence investigation into a presidential campaign, complete with secret surveillance warrants and informants. Mr. Comey triggered the public release of the collusion accusations. He secretly kept memos of his conversations with a president, for future leverage. He leaked them, to provoke a special counsel and two years of hell.

In the past two years the nation has listened to the duplicitous testimony of former FBI agent, Peter Strzok, lecture Congress that there is no way that with all the safeguards placed on FBI agents could there ever be anyway for improper behavior to ever have taken place whether now or in the future.

We have come to learn that the FBI had in fact disregarded the constitutional protections that are enshrined in in the constitution and used with wanton abandon against a candidate they despised and continued while Trump served as president.

We now know that the FBI did in fact been warned that the dossier used in order to gain a FISA warrant application to conduct surveillance on Trump campaign official was part of a Russian disinformation operation. It has also been learned that the person who was the dossier’s primary source was under FBI investigation as a suspected agent for Russia. The FBI hid all this from the federal surveillance court, the FBI never disclosed to the court regarding who had paid for the dossier or mentioned the originator of the dossier had strong political animus against the intended target; which was Donald Trump. The FBI also deceived the court by not providing all exculpatory information and included doctored evidence by the FBI’s own attorney from which it was then presented to a federal court.

At no time during the years of investigation by the FBI, where they able to find one Trump official who had conspired or colluded with Russia, but as Constitutional Law Professor at George Washington University Jonathan Turley writes, Instead, investigations found extensive errors, irregular and criminal conduct, and statements of intense bias by key FBI figures. Yet, Comey proceeded to give what amounted to a series of shrugs in either denying any recollection of such information or deflecting responsibility to others.

Comey sanctimonious attitude throughout this entire episode was on full display during his entire testimony. Strassel mentioned that Mr. Comey highlighted the double standard again on Wednesday, as he danced around accountability. The probe’s biggest problem was that it was run at the top with no checks or oversight. Yet according to Mr. Comey, the top didn’t include the FBI director. “I can’t recall.” “I don’t remember learning anything.” “I don’t recall being informed of that.” “That’s about all I can recall.” “I don’t know.” “That doesn’t ring a bell.” So responded Mr. Comey for hours. His claims of obliviousness contrast with recent documents showing widespread concern in the FBI about the probe’s problems, with agents and analysts fretting about future “tough questions” and rushing to purchase professional liability insurance.

“In the main, it (Crossfire Hurricane) was done by the book, it was appropriate, and it was essential that it be done,” Comey said. Later, under persistent questioning from South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, Comey maintained that “Overall, I’m proud of the work.”

Has Joe Biden been asked any of these questions as this all happened during the period he served as vice president in the Obama administration? What did Biden know as he has given contradictory statements in the past?

Has anyone in the media asked President Obama about the actions of his administration during this period?

In the past few weeks, newly released documents from Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe showed that the Obama administration had obtained Russian intelligence as early as 2016 indicating that the Democrats’ nominee, Hillary Clinton, was trying to link Trump to Russia in order to make her own email scandal go away before the November election.

Comey was asked about this and his response was “didn’t ring a bell.”  Seriously that’s it!  Why did the FBI under Comey go forward with extreme zeal on one allegation and not the other? Comey was asked “did you have a duty to look at any allegations regarding Clinton in Russia?” Comey simply replied, “I don’t know what you mean.”

Under Comey’s leadership at the FBI allowed his Bureau to submit false FISA warrant applications, not just one but four different times. This led to the firing of top leaders at the FBI and the agents involved.

Comey did admit that what he knows know he wouldn’t have signed off on the FISA warrant applications targeting Carter Page. This makes the trifecta complete as Comey joins former acting Attorney General Sally Yates, and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein that the FISA application they all submitted are invalid.

Who is taking responsibility for this? Has anyone been charged for violating the constitutional rights of Americans?  If this happened under President Trump, would the principles be able get away with this? Would the media have not covered this abuse of constitutional power?

Turley mentioned that Comey also made a series of false statements. He repeated, for example, the long-standing denial that there was any surveillance of the Trump campaign. New information shows that the FBI used a briefing in August 2016 of then candidate Trump to gather information for “Crossfire Hurricane,” the Russia investigation. While Comey is still denying this fact, other Democrats have already moved on from the denial of any surveillance of the campaign.

We have come to find out that the FBI was warned early in the investigation that U.S. intelligence the Russian dossier was in fact funded by the Clinton campaign, and contained possible Russian disinformation.  The most salacious aspect of the dossier was that U.S. intelligence had told the FBI that Christopher Steele the originator of the dossier had falsified his sources and statements.  This was just basically bar room banter which was the only basis to begin an investigation.

Is this how counterintelligence investigations begin?

This didn’t matter to Comey how or where the dossier came from he wasn’t interested in ensuring constitutional norms and procedures were followed.  In Comey’s remarks with Sen. Cory Booker (D., N.J.), He explained how a failure of leadership or reckless public statements can encourage wrongdoing because “it gives [wrongdoers] license, and it makes them cool in the eyes of the people who make up that radioactive stew… it is a free pass to people that nobody wants in their communities.” It may not ring any bells with Comey but that is precisely what he is accused of doing as director in the Russian investigation.

The only question remaining is why has the media been silent on this clear abuse of constitutional power? This silence by the media gives American’s the perception that the U.S. doesn’t have an independent media it has a media embedded with the Democratic Party.

Now we have learned fired Deputy Director of the FBI and (CNN contributor) Andrew McCabe has refused to testify under oath in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee about his role in the Russian investigation.  McCabe cited concern for himself and his family, but others have testified in-person and remotely.

Is McCabe trying to run out the clock, because if the Democrats re-gain control of the Senate this investigation and all investigations into Russia will be shutdown.

Even Constitutional Law Professor at George Washington University Jonathan Turley  commented that McCabe’s position only magnifies concern over his veracity and transparency, two qualities that should be required for a CNN analyst. He has repeatedly used his CNN contract to spin stories that directly impact his legal and professional interests. He is now advancing a position that is absurd on its face but has received little press interest or criticism. He will continue to answer questions remotely at CNN of course — a hermetically sealed safe space for Andrew McCabe.

Would Democrats and the media allow this if this were Donald Trump or anyone in his administration?
