By John Ubaldi, “Ubaldi Reports”

The fundamental aspect of the Society of Professional Journalists lays out a code of ethical standards all journalists should follow; unfortunately today’s media has obliterated any pretense of this code of ethics in their reporting.

When the New York Times, the Washington Post, National Public Radio, Public Broadcasting Service, NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN and other media affiliates which are too numerous to mention have willfully engaged in partisan reporting with the stated objective of taking down a sitting U.S. president.

The standard set forth by the Society of Professional Journalist is to be accurate, fair, and free of any preconceived bias in reporting.

Since Donald Trump burst on to the scene and upended traditional American politics the media has dedicated enormous one-sided coverage which has been biased and lacking in any sense of evidentiary support from there salacious claims.

Democratic political analyst Doug Schoen who worked on both the campaigns for Bill and Hillary Clinton, stated that many of his media friends have mentioned to him that it’s their sole mission to take down the presidency of Donald Trump.

Throughout this period and throughout the Trump presidency the media has acted as a defacto member of the Democratic Party, parroting every talking point and sensational accusation against the president into its relentless media coverage.

During the 2016 presidential election various media affiliates were embed with the Democratic Party as reporters working for media affiliates were exposed sending articles to the Clinton campaign for vetting.  Some were also helping the campaign strategically place articles for maximum visibility.

The media has been relentless in its attack on Trump, but the same media went soft on President Obama.

One only has to examine how the media covered the IRS targeting of conservative groups, the Benghazi scandal, where administration officials openly lied as to its origins.  What about the Bowe Bergdahl scandal in which a trade was made for five harden Taliban terrorists.  There was the Iran nuclear deal where the Obama administration sent a plane loaded with $500 million to Iran in the middle of the night, gave unfroze $150 billion in Iranian assets, and lifted economic sanctions.

Far too much has been made of the false and unverified comments Trump supposedly made disparaging U.S. veterans with not one person corroborated this baseless story.  Where was the same media coverage given to the Veterans Affairs scandal in 2014, where high ranking VA official’s manipulated records regarding wait times where veterans dies while awaiting care in order for VA officials to receive bonuses?  Following this the Veterans Affairs Inspector General appointed by President Obama reported in September 2015 that 300,000 veterans likely died while awaiting healthcare at the VA.

Where was the media coverage?

How come the media never covered the Obama administration’s efforts to stop the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) from investigating Hezbollah cocaine smuggling into the United States known as Project Cassandra.

Why was the media been silent when then Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes stated, “The average reporter we talk to is 27 years old, and their only reporting experience consists of being around political campaigns. That’s a sea change. They literally know nothing.”

What about then U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder illegally surveilling the media then lied to Congress, and only admitted to it when a letter surfaced with his signature approving the surveillance of the Associated Press and Fox News James Rosen.

Could a Trump official or any Republican president get away with any of these scandals or could a Trump administration official show such blatant contempt for the media that Rhodes stated?

The most disturbing of all this was the weaponization of the Department of Justice, the FBI and the intelligence agencies who conducted surveillance on the Republican Parties presidential candidate Donald Trump.  When Trump won the presidency DOJ continued to conduct surveillance during the transition period even after he was sworn in as president.

The entire surveillance was predicated by an unsubstantiated salacious Russian dossier on Donald Trump which the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) paid close to $10 million.  This dossier was then funneled to the law firm of Perkins Coie, and transferred to Fusion GPS to conduct opposition research on the Trump campaign.

We have since learned by the Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz that the Russian dossier was the sole evidence used by the DOJ and FBI in obtaining a FISA surveillance warrant on members of the Trump campaign.

The DOJ IG also reported that that the DOJ and FBI had in fact lied about the importance of the dossier, when they routinely stated there was other evidence, when in fact there was none!  It was then reported that a high ranking FBI attorney had in fact   altered evidence which he later pled guilty to that was submitted as evidence in gaining a surveillance warrant.  The DOJ nor the FBI ever informed the federal court who paid for the dossier or of its validity.

Remarkably the Washington Post critic Erik Wemple chastised MSNBC host Rachel Maddow for misleading her audience with regard to the Russian dossier as she stated it was verifiable, when it was not.  Other media affiliates should have gotten the same condemnation; but they didn’t!

For example would the media allow a Republican administration to get away with this?  How would the media respond if a Republican administration would have used the DOJ and the FBI to conduct surveillance on a Democratic presidential candidate?  Then use this dossier that was paid for by a Republican challenger for president and the Republican National Committee to be funneled to a law firm who then transferred it an opposition research firm to pay a former British intelligence officer who then got his information from Russian intelligence officials.

Could a Republican use this same dossier to have the DOJ and FBI to get a FISA warrant to conduct surveillance a Democratic candidate and there campaign team, we later learned that the real origins of the Russian dossier was Igor Danchenko who had worked at the liberal leaning Brookings Institute.  What is this was done by a conservative think tank, would the media not cover this story?

What would the media coverage be like if this was a Republican president or a conservative think tank; would they treat it in the same way?

These are only few of the scandals perpetrated by the Obama-Biden administration, listing them all would be to exhaustive.

Throughout the entire Russian collusion narrative, the main stream media ran with every salacious story citing sources who had first hand evidence that Donald Trump and his campaign had indeed in fact colluded and cooperated with Moscow.

The media was even rewarded for its efforts as The New York Times and the Washington Post received the prestigious Pulitzer Prize in Journalism award in December 2018 for its Russian collusion narrative.  Less than four months later the nation learned this was all proved false!

As was mentioned by the Pulitzer Prize Committee, this was for the deeply sourced, relentlessly reported coverage in the public interest that dramatically furthered the nation’s understanding of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and its connections to the Trump campaign, the President-elect’s transition team and his eventual administration.

Four months later Special Counsel Robert Mueller submitted its finding to the Justice Department that no American had knowingly or unwillingly had cooperated or colluded with Russia.

What evidence did the New York Times and Washington Post have that Mueller never found?  Both media affiliates jumped on every salacious allegation without any bases for facts or evidence.

Was the media held accountable for its false reporting; no!

Look how the media handled then chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) and the committee’s then-ranking minority member Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) who both issued vastly different version of alleged FISA abuses by DOJ and FBI.

Schiff’s memo was overwhelmingly praised by the media, while Nunes report was universally condemned as a partisan and serving the interests of Trump.  The media wildly praised Schiff as a Harvard Law graduate who has run circles around the “former dairy farmer,” who was “way over his head” and had “no idea what’s going on.”

Then in December 2019, the Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz issued its final report found 17 “significant inaccuracies and omissions” in their FISA warrant applications against a Trump campaign official.

It doesn’t stop there in March of this year, Horowitz reviewed 29 random FISA warrant applications and in each case found “apparent errors or inadequately supported facts.”  Horowitz report was in line with the Nunes memo.

Why didn’t the media chastise Schiff or cover the 29 FISA abuses by the DOJ and the FBI? This was all done by appointees of the Obama-Biden administration.

Would the media have handled this the same way if this was done by President Trump or any other Republican president?

The disturbing aspect and the blatant political bias by the media is that all the political appointee’s by the Obama-Biden administration officials such CIA Director John Brennan, FBI Director James Comey, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and others have peddled the same pontification on CNN, MSNBC and other media affiliates about Russian collusion.

Two of the officials Comey and his Deputy Andrew McCabe were fired from the FBI and recommended for criminal referral but later the DOJ declined to prosecute.  Both Comey and McCabe secured prominent roles with MSNBC and CNN, would a Republicna be given plum positions with the media?

One should examine the address by famed Russian dissident, Alexander Solzhenitsyn at Harvard University when he stated, “And one would then like to ask: By what law has it been elected and to whom is it responsible? In the communist East a journalist is frankly appointed as a state official. But who has granted Western journalists their power, for how long a time, and with what prerogatives?”

Has the media been infused into the Democratic Party, just examine the many biased reporting and false accusations perpetrated by the main stream media since the election of Donald Trump.

This year the media covered the sexual assault allegations by Tara Reade, who was leveling charges at former vice president Joe Biden, the main stream media sat on the story for a month, then claimed due process be followed.

When Christine Blasey Ford accused Brett Kavanagh of sexual assault some forty years ago, the media jumped on every salacious accusation that were never based on fact or evidence, simply repeating the moniker of “all women must be heard, but more importantly must be believed.”

For the Media, “we hear Reade,” but it was far different then “we believe her.”  Biden had gone on close to 30 news interviews without ever being asked about this accusation, far cry from how Kavanagh was treated.

All through 2016, and now 2020 the media has been far harder and covered Trump far differently than it had Hillary Clinton and now they go easy on Joe Biden.  Rich Noyes of the Media Research Center found that from March 4 (when Joe Biden had basically wrapped up the Democratic nomination) through May 31, Trump coverage on the ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts was 94% negative. In May, it was 99.5% negative, an all-time low.

This year alone venom by the media’s coverage of Trump has been elevated to astronomical levels as the main stream media has infused itself with Joe Biden’s campaign.  The recent town hall Trump sponsored with ABC News moderated by George Stephanopoulos and the one by CNN moderated by Anderson Cooper asked extremely tough and harsh question of the president, but softball questions of Biden.

Why has the media excused Biden for not holding any press conferences, or engage with them like Trump has been required?  The same goes for Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris.  Why has the media excused Harris for not holding any press conferences, or engaging in question and answer sessions with the media?

Even when the media finally is allowed to ask any questions, they only ask softball questions; why is this?  When Biden does engage the press, he calls on preselected reporters and reads only preselected questions, the media never questions this; why?  Would Trump be allowed to get away with this?

Throughout 2020 the media has savaged Trump over his handling of the coronavirus as a mitigated disaster, without any evidentiary evidence to support their conclusions.  Even the governors of the four largest states, Democrats Andrew Cuomo of New York and Gavin Newsom of California and Republicans Greg Abbott of Texas and Ron DeSantis of Florida effectively praised the administration’s efforts thanking Trump for giving them everything they have essentially asked for.

Even Dr. Deborah Birx (adviser to both the Obama and Trump administrations on responses to infectious diseases), Dr. Anthony Fauci (director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases), and Dr. Scott Gottlieb (former head of the Food and Drug Administration) have never criticized the administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The media in its condemnation of Trump’s handling of the coronavirus have never once pressed how Biden would handle the virus or what he would do differently.  In July, Biden was interviewed on MSNBC by Joy Reid as she asked Biden if you were president what you would do differently then what President Trump has done.

Biden gave six examples of how his approach would be different from Trump, unfortunately, Reid never pressed nor has any other media outlet reported that everything Biden suggested, the president is either doing or has done.

Nor has the media reported that when Trump issued his travel ban at the end of January from flights coming from China the epicenter of the virus, and later Europe  every Democrat including Biden stated this was unnecessary and racist.  At the end of February, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stated there was no reason to cancel travel from China.

Where was the media coverage?

Look at recent developments that occurred with a major peace deal between Israel, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, once mortal enemies and now these Arab states have recognized the Jewish state.  This is the first peace deal in over thirty years, and only the third one since the founding of Israel in 1948.

How would this have been handled if the president was Barack Obama?  Pelosi was given an invitation to attend the signing but refused to attend, would she have refused to attend if the president was Obama not Trump?  Would the media not have covered a Republican leader who refused to attend?

Hoover Institute Historian Victor David Hanson wrote that in  2017, the media suggested that Trump’s plans to get out of the Iran nuclear deal and the Paris climate accord, to confront Chinese mercantilism, to forge new alliances between Israel and moderate Arab regimes, to isolate an ascendant Iran, to close the southern border to illegal immigration, to jawbone NATO alliance members into honoring their defense-expenditure commitments, and to destroy ISIS and weaken Hezbollah were all impossible, counterproductive or sheer madness.

Now in 2020, Iran is teetering on bankruptcy, international terror groups such as Hezbollah are broke, and China is being shunned by much of the world.

The media has failed to cover how America’s reduced its greenhouse gas emissions, at a far greater level then other nations even after pulling out the Paris Climate Accord.

Finally examine how the media covered the riots in numerous American cities, never questioning or asking that all are in cities run by Democrats for decades and some going back a century as the case in Atlanta, and Milwaukee.

Why did the media not question, report or ask the Democratic Party or Joe Biden during their party’s convention anything on the ongoing riots?  When the media did report it was mainly peaceful protest when video evidence showed otherwise.

The media as never asked or questioned Democrats or Biden if black and Hispanic lives really matter why in Democrat controlled cities 70% of these children cannot do English or math to grade level.

The media has never looked at the failed governance of Democratic run cities who now are clamoring for a bailout to rescue their beleaguered finances.  Why has the media not covered this?

The teachers union that Democrats support strongly support public education not for the benefit of children but for the benefit of the union patrons which overwhelmingly support Democratic candidates.

Biden himself stated “You will never find in American history a president who is more teacher-centric or more supportive of teachers than me,” Biden told National Education Association delegates on July 3.

Biden continued “This is going to be a teacher-oriented Department of Education, and it’s not going to come from the top down—it’s going to come from the teachers up.”

In Biden’s unity task force he would send massive amounts of additional federal funding to public schools and not one dime to charter schools or give black and Hispanic families a chance at school choice to send their children to a school that best suits their needs for a better education.

Why hasn’t the media asked Biden why he had a choice to send his two boy’s to a prestigious private high school but then denies black and Hispanic children the same choice his son’s had?  Many prominent Democrats are vehemently opposed to school choice, when in fact they themselves or their children had the choice to attend a private school.  Why are they afforded choice but not for everyone else?

Why hasn’t the media covered this or anything related to Democrats and education?

The words of former Russian dissident Alexandr Solzhenitsyn ring true, “Because instant and credible information has to be given, it becomes necessary to resort to guesswork, rumors, and suppositions to fill in the voids, and none — and none of them will ever be rectified; they will stay on in the readers’ memories. How many hasty, immature, superficial, and misleading judgments are expressed every day, confusing readers, without any verification.”

Today, America doesn’t have a media it has a Democratic Party state run media similar to Pravda!
